Sarah LeBlanc

Sarah is from Yarmouth, NS. She works as an Independent Claims Adjuster with Crawford and Company, and attended Dalhousie University receiving her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2000.

Sarah started barrel racing when she was 34 years old, which coincidently is when she first learned how to ride. Sarah says that her horses have always been her greatest teachers. She has 2 mares: her main competition horse, Sloane, is 10, and her semi-retired mare Bugsy who is 12.

“Sloane has been on Elite Three products since March of this year. She is on the HP oil, Body Builder, and E5 Evolve. She honestly has never looked better. Since starting her on these products, I genuinely can say that I’ve noticed a significant change in her. She is so much more focused during exercise. She self carries, maintains her shape and form independently, needs less babysitting, and overall seems to be a much happier horse under saddle.  During warm up at a barrel race, she is calmer, more relaxed, and less fidgety. Entering the ring, while she is still pumped and fuelled with adrenaline, she is much more willing with much less drama.

Her body conditioning is incredible. Her muscle tone, her top line, her body fat percentage, her leanness, it is astonishing. She looks like a professional race horse. Since feeding the Elite Three products, I have noticed I do not need to feed as much grain. I have tried many other lines of products and supplements, but none can I say have had this noticeable of an effect.”

Sarah races on the Maritime Barrel Racing Association (MBRA) circuit, the East Coast Rodeo Association (ECRA) circuit, and the local Western Shore Barrel Racing Club (WSBRC). With having only gone to 3 shows this year, Sarah has won 10 of her classes. She placed first in the MBRA Open Division Barrel Race, first in the MBRA Open Division Pole Bending class, won 6 races with ECRA, and 2 races with WSBRC so far this spring. Sarah attends approximately 16-18 events a season, and has plans to attend the All American Quarter Horse Congress next year in Columbus Ohio.

Last year, Sarah and Sloane won a trophy saddle for the Fastest Barrel Time, were Pole Bending Champions at 2 MBRA Ram Rodeo’s, had several 1D wins, among many other championships won throughout the year. This is the first year for the East Coast Rodeo Association, but so far Sarah and Sloane are the leading money earners towards the year end title.

“I truly believe that the Elite Three Hemp Seed line has given us a competitive edge so early in the season. Sloane’s body and mind is prepared and strong going in to this year’s race season. This early on in our season, Sloane and I had a personal best in Pole Bending with a 20.643, which is half a second faster than our previous record. Half a second is huge in the barrel racing world. I credit that to Elite Three.”

Sarah lost her spouse last year to a tragic drowning while he was surfing. Sarah says that her horses are what kept her going. They were her source of strength and happiness. They are what got her up every morning and put smiles on her face when she didn’t feel like smiling.

Sarah and her story are true proof of how horses can often be our greatest saviours in this world, and the light that guides us through the darkest of tunnels.
